Ricky Gomez
Camp Leader

Ricky Gomez is the Camp Leader for Spirit Hockey. Ricky grew up playing AA hockey (since the age of three) in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, played Division I club hockey at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and has been coaching youth AA hockey for the past ten years. Ricky has been married to his beautiful wife, Christine, for 16  years, and they are the proud parents of 8 children.  Ricky is blessed to be the Camp Leader for Spirit Hockey as it combines two of his greatest loves, the Catholic faith and the game of hockey.

Bishop Thomas Paprocki
Spiritual Advisor

Bishop Paprocki, "The Holy Goalie", is currently the Bishop of the Diocese of Springfield, Illinois.  Bishop Paprocki serves as the Chairman of the Episcopal Advisory Board of Catholic Athletes for Christ and wrote a book, Holy Goals for Body and Soul: Eight Steps to Connect Sports with God and Faith, published by Ave Maria Press. He uses the connection between sports and faith as a focus of his ministry.  Bishop Paprocki has led faith formation at Spirit Hockey Camps in prior years, and Spirit is blessed to have Bishop Paprocki as a Spiritual Advisor.

Daily Camp Schedule

• 7am - 4pm, two hours on ice, dryland/off-ice workouts, shooting and stick handling, faith talks, rosary and more
• Detailed hour-by-hour schedule provided upon registration​​

Camper Attire:

• ​Hockey Gear: Under armor, Jock (for boys), Shin pads, Hockey socks, Hockey Pants, Skates, Shoulder Pads, Elbow Pads, Neck Guard, Hockey Gloves, Helmet with full cage, Mouth Guard, Jersey, Hockey stick
• Athletic shoes and shorts for off-ice workout
