Through our sports camps, we strive to put our faith into action while seeking to hand on the beauty of our Catholic Tradition. In this sense, our camps provide a way of handing on the content of our faith outside of a classroom setting, seeking to bring to life St. John Paul II’s call to the New Evangelization. We have discovered that young people “listen more willingly to witnesses than to teachers, and if they do listen to teachers is it because they are first witnesses” (Evangelii Nuntiandi #41). Whether it is a short teaching on how to give yourself to Jesus at Mass, spending time in silent adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, or having fun with friends playing their sport, each young person is challenged to live into the rich Faith Tradition that is Catholicism in a more real and personal way, drawing from the witness and teachings provided by coaches.
“Sport trains body and spirit for perseverance, effort, courage, balance, sacrifice, honesty, friendship and collaboration.”
