​Trent Klatt

​ Trent is a retired American professional ice hockey right winger who played 14 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Minnesota North Stars, Dallas Stars, Philadelphia Flyers, Vancouver Canucks and Los Angeles Kings. He coached Bantam A hockey in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is a former scout for the New York Islanders. He started as the Junior Varsity and Varsity coach for Grand Rapids high school in the 2015-2016 season where they finished 3rd in State. He won his 1st Class AA Minnesota State High School Championship on Saturday March 11, 2017 with a 6-3 win over the Moorhead Spuds. Trent earned the American Family Insurance ALL-USA Coach of the Year honor for 2016-17. He and his wife, Kelly, share their personal faith journey and why they love being Catholic at local parishes.

Christopher Gomez
Camp Leader

Christopher Max Gomez (CMG) is the CEO of the management consulting company, Spirit Consulting. Christopher played college hockey at the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana and has been coaching youth hockey for the past three years at the Darien Hawks. Christopher has many passions in life, including spending time with Abba through meditative prayer, raising his darling boys Chris & Carter, public speaking, and freeing people through evangelization.

Bishop Thomas Paprocki
Chaplain

Bishop Paprocki, "The Holy Goalie", will be joining CHC again as Chaplain at the Darien Camp and the Springfield Camp. He is currently the Bishop of the Diocese of Springfield, Illinois. His love for the game of hockey is evident on the ice with the campers. Bishop Paprocki serves as the Chairman of the Episcopal Advisory Board of Catholic Athletes for Christ and wrote a book, Holy Goals for Body and Soul: Eight Steps to Connect Sports with God and Faith, published by Ave Maria Press. He uses the connection between sports and faith as a focus of his ministry.

Tom Lynn
Coach

Tom is a principal of Veritas Hockey and an NHLPA Certified Agent, an agency providing representation to current and prospective professional hockey players worldwide. As an advisor and agent, Tom Lynn has assisted players through major junior, American junior leagues, the college scouting and recruitment process, placement as free agents with NHL teams, placement with European teams as free agents, and applied his long legal experience and NHL tenure in negotiating his players’ contracts.​ Tom enjoys coaching campers and is looking forward to returning in 2020 to share his love of hockey and God!

Richard Gomez
Coach

Coach Rick is now in his fourth year as one of the hockey directors for Catholic Hockey Camp. Richard grew up playing AA hockey (since the age of three) in the southwest suburbs of Chicago and has been coaching youth AA hockey for the past five years. Some of the clubs which Richard grew up playing include the St. Jude Knights, Orland Park Vikings, Darien Huskies, and Chicago Flames. In high school, Richard played Midget Major Central States for the Chicago Flames, with his team winning state in both his junior and senior years. Richard played Division 1 club college hockey at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with his team winning the ACHA Division 1 national championship both his freshman and senior years. Richard served as his team assistant captain his senior year.

Schedule

Family Night
CSC holds Family Night for each camp the night before camp begins. Everyone in the family is invited to attend. The night includes Mass, pizza with the coaches, a faith & sports talk, and the chance to check in and receive your official camp gear!

Camper Attire:

  • Hockey Gear
    • Under armor, Jock (for boys), Shin pads, Hockey socks, Hockey Pants, Skates, Shoulder Pads, Elbow Pads, Neck Guard, Hockey Gloves, Helmet with full cage, Mouth Guard, Jersey, Hockey stick
  • Athletic shoes and shorts for off-ice workout 
  • Camp Jersey - These will be handed out at Family Night and at Monday check-in.
          Other T-shirt is permitted if camp shirt is being laundered.

Items to bring: (please label with name)

  • Water Bottle
  • Snack (if needed)
